The Missouri below Holter is familiar water for GFM. Craig and Cascade are starting points for many of our days here. There’s room to float, work a run, look for rising trout, and spend time on the cast. Tell us what kind of fishing you want to do and we’ll help plan the day.
Dry flies get plenty of attention on the Missouri, and we enjoy those days. We also fish nymphs and streamers, and offer seasonal Trout Spey trips. The best choice comes from what’s happening when we’re there. A hatch calendar is helpful, but watching the water and the fish is better than forcing a pattern that isn’t working.
New anglers are welcome. You don’t have to arrive with every piece of gear or a perfect cast. Let us know about the group, the time you have, and any techniques you’d like to try. We’ll confirm the guide and equipment, explain the meeting point, and keep the pace comfortable. If lodging is part of the trip, include your overnight dates, beds, and budget in the same request.
This page pairs the hourly forecast at the USGS Missouri below Holter Dam gauge near Wolf Creek with flow measured at that same station. They help us plan; they don’t describe every bend of the river. Check the update times and the forecast for the hours you’ll be out, especially the wind. Use current FWP rules, closures, and access information before you travel. We’ll discuss the actual float and takeout with you before the trip.
