How we check the details
Source Standards
When we share a fact or a river reading, we want you to be able to check it. Here’s how we choose sources and handle corrections.
Where we start
Primary sources first
For weather, streamflow, regulations, closures, and public land records, Go Fish Montana prefers the responsible public agency or the original record. Current river pages identify the National Weather Service, Montana Mesonet, and the named USGS gauge beside each reading.
Local guide observations and fishing reports add field context. They do not replace official restrictions, safety notices, access rules, or measured data.
Reader checks
Dates and links stay visible
Journal articles show a visible update date and source list. Time-sensitive pages show the location, timestamp, source state, and direct source link whenever one is available.
Placeholder, provisional, stale, fictional, and unavailable information stays labeled. Go Fish Montana does not present those states as verified live conditions.
