The Blackfoot is a river we like spending time on. Forested banks, riffles, deep runs, and bends give us plenty to work with. It runs into the Clark Fork near Bonner, east of Missoula. If you’ve been thinking about a Montana float, this is a good river to ask us about.
A River Runs Through It brought a lot of people to the Blackfoot story. Once you’re here, there’s more to pay attention to than its reputation: the current under the boat, insects along a bank, and which presentation fits the run. We can work with dry flies, nymphs, or streamers as conditions allow. We won’t promise a hatch or a fish before the day starts.
Tell us who is coming and what they enjoy. We can spend time helping a first-time angler cast, look for feeding fish with someone who has been at it for years, or settle into a relaxed float with the family. Ask about walking or wading needs when you send the request. We’ll confirm the guide, meeting place, gear, and suitable water with you.
The hourly forecast and USGS flow shown here both use the Blackfoot near Bonner gauge location. Check the source and time beside each reading. They give us planning information, but conditions can differ on the reach we fish. Read FWP’s current rules, restrictions, and access information before travel. Need somewhere to stay around your guide days? GFM can help get that part of the trip lined up too.
